Love this easy preparation for salmon. It is so easy to prepare and adds such wonderful flavor to the salmon without overpowering the fish. I found the Yozu and black garlic at the Trader Joe’s. The Yozu is a spicy citrus sauce and the black garlic has a smoky earthy flavor that is wonderful and a bit crispy, so good with the fish. I added sliced Fresno chili’s for extra heat, but adjust to your taste. You could easily grill the salmon if you prefer not to broil.

Serves 2
Ingredients:
- 2 6-ounce skin on filets
- 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- 3 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 2 tablespoons neutral vegetable oil, separated
- 3 teaspoons sesame seeds, plus more for serving
- 1 tablespoon yozu sauce
- Black garlic for sprinkling
- Kosher salt and pepper
- 2 bunch scallions, cut in thirds, including green portions
- 1 fresno chile, thinly sliced
Directions:
Preheat oven to 450. Whisk garlic, lime juice, soy sauce, honey, yozu sauce 1 tablespoon of oil, sesame seeds in a small bowl. Season salmon fillets with salt and pepper and drizzle about half of marinade on top of salmon. Allow salmon to marinate in fridge for 15-30 minutes reserving remaining marinade. Bake salmon for 12-15 minutes on parchment lined rimmed baking sheet.
While salmon bakes, heat a large nonstick pan on medium-high and add scallions seasoning with a bit of salt and pepper. Allow scallions to char, turning once or twice (about 5 minutes). Add remaining marinade to the pan, stir to coat and remove from heat. Remove salmon from oven and set on top of scallions with any remaining marinade. Sprinkle with more sesame seeds, black garlic and sliced Fresno chilis.
Beautiful! Charred scallions add so much to a dish!
Thank you Dorothy and I agree!

Thank you so much, my husband really loved it and it was so quick and easy for a weeknight meal!
