Every Greek household has a version of this recipe. I just love this buttery, not overly sweet cookie that is perfect with coffee and crunchy, but not too hard. This recipe was given to me by my dear friend Kris and I feel so blessed to be able to share it with you. If you have a Greek market, or can order the Greek vanilla on line, The flavor is unique and makes these cookies extra delicious. I made half the recipe, and to make the cookies equal in size, my sister Rena suggested measuring the dough on a scale. I am not that meticulous, but it would help guarantee perfectly equal cookies.
