Love these squares of goodness. Not too sweet, full of wholesome ingredients and perfect on-the-go breakfast of champions healthy snack. They pack lots of fruit and fiber in every bite. If you prefer something sweeter, you can add additional honey to the strawberry mixture, The deep ruby color of the strawberry layer is beautiful and it is best to use very ripe bananas that are well bruised. If you have bananas at home that are bruising on the counter, you can always freeze them and thaw then when you are ready to use them.
This recipe looks absolutely delicious but there is zero information on what “Alessia balsamic glaze” is? A google search shows me Alessi balsamic vinegar, but no info about a glaze. Is it OK to use a different kind of balsamic vinegar?
Hi Nikki- thanks for your comment and question. This is a glaze I use in many of my recipes. It is a balsamic reduction glaze that is one of my preferred brands. I am sure you could substitute a different brand. If you can’t find this brand in your local market, I know it is available on Amazon. They have a white one and the dark one. I used the dark one. I hope this is helpful. Happy Cooking!
thanks for the reply!
This is still unclear… do you turn this vinegar into a glaze yourself? Or buy it?
If you turn it into a glaze yourself, how do I make it? There is no info on it on the website…
Sorry Nikki for the confusion it is store bought —I would be happy to take a picture of it … you can email me mgdesjardins@sbcglobal.net or direct message on instagram @maroscooking and I would be happy to help!
