The typical Greek gyro is often served with traditional french fries….I made this a bit healthier by baking some sweet potato fries and loading them up with plenty of spice and adding some green beans to the mix as well as sautéed onions and peppers: I almost always marinate my chicken in yogurt or buttermilk for several hours. It goes a long way to tenderizing the chicken and creates a base for any marinade. There is a lot of oregano, lemon and garlic in the marinade to steep it in Greek flavor. If you make the tsatsiki, be sure to strain the yogurt well and the grated cucumber as well.
